Nicolette Woltman was born in Sacramento and grew up in L.A. She is a local Artist and Poet who has lived on the Central Coast for over 30 years. Before that she enjoyed living in Hawaii for 5 years. She loves her three beautiful children and enjoys raising 3 chickens and her cat who adores them. She has been an artist since childhood and began writing poetry in her teens. To avoid the feeling of chaos, the sixth child of seven has always found peace in creating art or writing a poem while listening to soothing music, like Mozart. Nicolette has gained inner strength while hurdling many obstacles in her life. She knows her talent is God given and feels very blessed.

Selling art and poetry as a business since 1995, she offers fine art prints, Giclee’ prints on canvas and has just recently made her originals available. She has pioneered several creative art tecniques. She markets her own work and has made her own frames. Having published 2 small poetry books and 2 poetry tapes, she has read her poems to thousands of people. Her enthusiastic personality and persistence contribute to her success.

She has exhibited her work at various places and at many functions in the community: Women’s Network, Chamber of Commerce functions, Cottonwood Winery and Kiwana’s group in Santa Maria, at Vigneto Ristorante, Village Art, Maison Deutz winery, The Times Press Recorder in Arroyo Grande, at the dedication of the Nipomo Library (where her books can be checked out) and at Working Women of Worth (WWW) in SLO.

She has had book signings where she also showed her artwork in San Luis Obispo at Barnes and Nobles, in Grover Beach at The Bible Depot, in Arroyo Grande at Books West, and at Nelson’s Bible Bookstore in Santa Maria.

Her work has graced the walls of Blue Moon Café, KUHL radio, and Hacienda Bank on S. Broadway in Santa Maria, Café Aulait restaurant in Santa Barbara, Federico’s restaurant in Solvang, Café Rouge restaurant in Los Gatos, Los Gatos Coffee Roasting Company, The Tribune Gallery in SLO, The Blissful Dragon in Grover Beach, and Hobee’s restaurant in SLO.

Her artwork has been exhibited at Giusseppi’s Restaurant, Stinn’s Jewelry and New Life Community church in Pismo Beach, Avila Barn and The Inn at Avila Beach, and at Morro Bay Gallery and Gallery Paradiso in Morro Bay.

Featured in many local papers (over 50 times) Nicolette has read poems and shown her work on the local ch. 12 news several times live, read many poems live on the Dave Congolton show in SLO and on the Rick at Nite Show four times. Her art and web site was in Millionaire Magazine which is distributed internationally.

She headed a group of 7 artists, called Artists in Action, for an Art Affair at the Madonna Inn where they were able to give a sizable donation to the North County Women’s Shelter from their sales.

She created the logo for Zaca Mesa Winery in Santa Ynez for Day In the Vineyard event where her artwork was printed on T-shirts and sandblasted onto wine bottles and handpainted.

She has been involved with many Fundraisers where her artwork has been auctioned off to help many groups such as The Homeless, Women’s Shelter, church Youth Group, Humaine Society for cats and Kibbles and Bids for Golden Retrievers. She has been asked to teach art at Artist Associations in Santa Maria and Atascadero and has also demonstrated her art tecniques at the Fairgrounds and through Miller Elementary school in Santa Maria.

For over 8 years she has enjoyed teaching art classes for children at a variety of locations: Alan Hancock College in Santa Maria, in their College For Kids program, San Luis Art Center, Oceano Elementary school, Saratoga/Los Gatos recreation dept., and offers private lessons up on the Mesa in Arroyo Grande.

Flowers, people, fruit, vegetables and wine are some of her favorite subjects to paint or sketch. She is presently focusing on aquamedia (all water based products). She uses vibrant watercolors from Russia and acrylics from France on thick, acid free watercolor paper from Italy.

She has studied art all through her life and has attended West L.A. Jr. College, Santa Monica City College, Alan Hancock College and Cal State University in Long Beach, California.
